Ogun Indigenes Mourn As Truck Crushes Oba Bankole

Indigenes of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State are currently mourning the demise of Olu of Onibuku, Oba Abraham Bankole, who was crushed by a truck.

Reports said that the truck, with registration number EPE 252 XF, hit the traditional ruler while he was alighting from a tricycle, popularly known as Keke Napep, on the Ota-Idiroko expressway, close to Winners Chapel in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

Bamidele was said to have died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the Sango-Ota Area Commander of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Adekunle Ajibade, blamed the incident on “dangerous and reckless driving” by the truck driver.

He disclosed that the corpse of the traditional ruler had been deposited at the state hospital in Ota.

Ajibade, who described the accident as avoidable, warned motorists against reckless driving.
