Late Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi, who collapsed and died in his bathroom on Sunday, May 14, 2023, was buried on Monday May 15, 2023 at his Ikorodu residence would be honoured by his colleagues with an artiste night programme at the LTV Blue Roof Arena in Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
This will be followed by fidau prayers at the same venue on Monday, May 22.
Speaking to journalists at the burial, the President of the Theatre Arts and Movies Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin, had said, “Anybody can die. Murphy was not sick, as far as we know. As you must have heard, he went to have his bath, slipped and died. The news of his death came as a rude shock to us, and is a great loss to the industry.”
