The effervescent lady said she learned a lot from the 14th Anniversary lecture/awards of NATIONAL WAVES
“I was privileged to co-host the event and during the process I did learn alot about the wonderful things alot of great Nigerians are doing, both National and globally. During the lecture, I also learned about Judiciary proceedings and other important details about democratic leadership” She told NATIONAL WAVES about her stint in Compering events.
“I have always had a Knack for coordinating gatherings and I have always been a Talker since, since I was young. During my study in the Prestigious Nigerian Institute of Journalism where we were taught to practice practical and professional journalism. I was able to self-improve my talking skills and my knack for coordination. As a young girl, I didn’t even know anything like Compere existed, though I knew about MC and Alaka Iduro at traditional ceremonies.
However, when I started anchoring shows in 2015 and the audience would expect me to crack a joke or say something funny, I just knew that wasn’t me. It wasn’t my style. Then I started to research, read books and ask questions. Along the line, I became better in that field.
Kemi Famous added that she’s a professional Compere.
“I would say I am a professional Compere who likes to give her best to every job she’s given and who seeks support and encouragement from distinguished individuals in the corporate world to support my craft.
In addition, I currently work as the Student Recruitment Manager (West Africa) with Keel University International College, UK where I explore my other professional skills”
She threw more light about her life and career.
“My life and career have been a progressive journey which I am most grateful for. I graduated from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in 2015 where I had already been practicing as a TV presenter and Red Carpet host. Served with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, GlobeFM Bauchi for my NYSC in 2016/2017 where I was honoured to have a Live English-speaking show (first of it’s Kind), which garnered alot of listenership in the state. I was also able to train some Interns and Core-members during my time. Amazingly, the show had continuity even after 2years, before it was replaced with a National programme.
In 2020, I was privileged to co-host the 5th year Coronation Anniversary of the Ooni Ojaja of Ile-Ife; the Prestigious Business Day Nigerian Leadership Awards; as well as other international events such as African Young Luther King Heroes Summit, organised by AD Kings Foundation, USA; Martin Luther King Young professional Program, USA by Alarinka Media; amongst many other virtual, physical and hybrid events.
I have also been privileged to speak as a guest and on the panel of reputable seminars and conferences including educational summits.
I am thankful for the growth, for all the works I have done, the professional training and personal self-development. I am also grateful to everyone who has supported me in this journey”.
She advised Nigerian youths to be more proactive and work on their skills to achieve their set goals.
“In a country that does not value nor appreciate raw talents, my advice to the youths will be “never neglect the days of little beginning. Appreciate your skill/talent and build on it”.
No skill or talent should be ignored. With training, consistency and hardwork, that talent /skill can be nurtured into something beautiful that will be in-demand in a society that does not appreciate raw talent” She sounded with a note of finality.
