G-CASI unveils new economic opportunities to tackle recession

A global community and grassroots support group based in Nigeria, G-Casi has unveiled new economic opportunities aimed at building businesses as a strategy to combat economic recession in the country.

President General of the group, DIG Michael Zuokumor (rtd) who made this known in Makurdi during the inauguration of the Benue State Chapter of the NGO, said the organisation ‘came into existence at a time where the nation is striving to overcome economic recession’ adding that it aims to leverage on the economic potentials of Nigeria.

“We will encourage entrepreneurial development as well as encourage creativity and opening new business opportunities in the country,” he said.

He was optimistic that the group will strengthen and empower Nigerians for sustainable development across the sectors of the economy.

According to him, G-CASI was officially inaugurated on the 12th April 2016 at the international conference centre (ICC) Abuja.

He said, therefore, there is no need to go into the background necessitating the setting up of G-CASI other than that, it was mentioned that G-CASI stand for empowering the people by promoting green environment carbon emission to be reduced to the barest minimum.

It also aims to provide abundant food and economic empowerment for all as well improving the standard of living through waste management control relying on the 3R’S meaning Reduce, Recycle and Re-use.

 

According to the president General of G-CASI, Nigeria is spending nearly thirty billion dollars on importation of plastic, erotic polymers, polythene, polystyrene and other plastics adding that the organisation will encourage the establishment of small modular refineries and petro chemical plants since resin is from crude oil.

‘This will help boost Nigeria industrialisation and provide jobs for many,” he said adding that Benue State has abundant natural resources and potentials which require huge investment for harnessing.

The Coordinator, Benue state chapter of G-CASI, Engr. Emmanuel Olukpo said that it is clear from the objective of G-CASI that ‘it will be able to address youth restiveness by creating job opportunities in line with the policies of Governor Samuel Ortom administration.’
