President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the families of victims of the 21-storey, Ikoyi Lagos building.
A statement by the president’s spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina, on Monday in Abuja, said President Buhari sympathised with people and Government of Lagos State.
He urged the authorities to step up efforts in rescue operations.
He called on emergency institutions, including hospitals, to provide all the necessary support to safeguard the lives of the rescued.
At least four persons were brought out dead from the rubbles of the 21 Storey building on Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Four others were also rescued.
Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, South West Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday.
Many people are feared trapped as the skyscraper under construction collapsed in Ikoyi.
NEMA team and that of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are still on ground trying to rescue trapped workers.
