What could have been responsible for the death of three family members of the Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru? This is the question pertinently asked by friends and family members of the deceased.
While still mourning the death of his mother Hajiya Fatima Baru, who died in her hometown of Misau in Bauchi State in the first week of April 2017, his sister, reportedly died weeks ago on the eve of his trip to Houston, Texas for the OTC conference.
As if that was not enough to devastate Baru, his 21-year-old son, Mohammed last Thursday died in Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UEA). Mohammed a first year Architecture student of American University, Sharjah reportedly collapsed and died while participating in a hiking exercise organized by the university.
He has since been buried according to Muslim rites.
