Police parade 71 suspected criminals
The Nigeria Police in Abuja have paraded 71 suspected criminals who have been involved in various criminal activities across the Northern states of Nigeria. They were alleged to have been involved in kidnapping, car theft, burglary, pick and drop known as one chance, ATM theft, highway robbery and drugs peddling. 71 AK47, 2 dane guns, anti-tracking equipment, cartons of banned tramadol valued #54m and other stolen goods were recovered from the suspects.
Parading the suspects at the end of year press conference in Abuja, the PPRO, Dep Commissioner Frank Mba said their arrests were the Police effort at making the Xmas season a crime free period for all Nigerians.
Mba said though investigation was still on-going, he maintained that the suspects had made useful statements to the Police. Some of the suspects who operate at the ATM points had confessed to their crime. He advised ATM card owners not to allow anybody to assist them at the point of using them.
Mba maintained that the arrest of the suspects would make residents particularly Abuja to now sleep with their two eyes closed.
